Documentary on Netflix | The royal family remain silent after more revelations from Harry and Meghan

(London) The British royal family continued their routine and remained silent on Friday, the day after the broadcast of the second half of the documentary series of Prince Harry and his wife Meghan, who made hard-hitting statements against the brother of Harry, Prince William.

Hours after the final episodes were released, members of the Royal Family showed unity by attending a Christmas charity concert in London on Thursday night. William, his wife Kate and their two eldest children, George and Charlotte, were joined at the Westminster Abbey Christmas Concert by King Charles III, Queen Consort Camilla and other family members.

While the first half of Netflix’s six-part series focused on the couple’s run-ins with the British media, the final three episodes aimed to criticize the royal institution – the family and its staff.

Within three hours of the documentary, Harry claimed William yelled at him during a family gathering and accused palace officials of lying to protect his older brother, who is now heir to the throne. Meghan also said that she had considered ending her life when she was the subject of major media hype.

Harry, a grandson of the late Queen Elizabeth II, married American actress Meghan Markle in a fairy-tale wedding at Windsor Castle in 2018. Less than two years later, the couple have left the UK, saying he was the subject of racist media treatment and citing the lack of support from the Palace.

In the documentary, Harry, 38, said William lashed out at him during a family gathering at Sandringham Castle in January 2020.

“It was terrifying to see my brother yelling and shouting at me, my dad saying things that just weren’t true, and my grandmother, who was sitting quietly and kind of absorbing it all” , he said.

Neither Buckingham Palace, which represents the king, nor William’s Palace office in Kensington have commented on the series.

There were no dissenting opinions in the documentary, which included interviews with the couple, friends and commentators.

Pauline Maclarnan, an expert on the royal family, said William and Harry’s relationship will be “very difficult to mend” with the explosive allegations in the documentary.

“It feels very definitive,” she argued.
