Do ut des 2017, Fattoria Carpineta Fontalpino, Tuscany, Italy

The Bordeaux blend here makes it more like a Super Tuscan than a Chianti, but it’s still the Petit Verdot (here at 34% of the blend) that puts it in a class of its own. In this auspicious and sunny vintage, the maturity is displayed with a noticeable impertinence, although the freshness is present. It’s powerful, sappy, long in the mouth. (5+) ©
