1.3 million French people are expected in stations between Friday July 8 and Sunday July 10, in a context of the Covid-19 epidemic rebound. The Minister of Health and the President of the SNCF strongly recommended wearing a mask in transport. What do the French think?

With the first major departures on vacation, Friday July 8, the Gare de Lyon (Paris) was once again very busy. A total of 1.3 million passengers are expected at stations over the weekend. For most of the people met by a France Télévisions team, the faces are uncovered, without masks. “It’s summer, it’s hot, we sweat in it, so I prefer not to wear it”advances in particular a traveler.

Others still have Covid-19 in mind. Wearing a mask is not compulsory on the train, but strongly recommended. “The epidemic is picking up again, so it’s important to put the mask back on”, confides a woman. Faced with the increase in contamination, the government recommends that the French take up the right reflexes, and wear a mask in public transport.
