The exhibition takes a resolutely contemporary look at black women.
Divine is an exhibition by Franco-Senegalese visual artist and photographer Delphine Diallo. It is visible until December 23, 2021 at the Fisheye Gallery in Paris.
“Delphine Diallo is often the central figure in her work, she represents herself in many forms that she associates with her experience as a black woman. But when she works with her models, a strong bond is created. Penetrating their intimacy, she allows the latter to free themselves and become new protagonists. Her encounters give rise to a plastic work that is both naive and assertive. Her portraits then become an ode to the liberation of women. She combines art with art. activism by pushing the many possibilities of empowering women, youth and cultural minorities through visual provocation “, explains the gallery.
Five works by the artist illustrate this point.
