Divers continued to explore the wreck of the Bayesian in Sicily (Italy). The bodies of two of the six people missing since the sinking of British tech tycoon Mike Lynch’s luxury yacht on Monday were found early this afternoon, the BBC learned from a head of Italy’s civil protection. The bodies, which have not yet been identified, bring the death toll from the shipwreck – caused by a sudden storm – to three, after the discovery of a first deceased man near the wreck on Monday. According to several media reports, the remains were those of the ship’s cook, who was born in Canada but is a citizen of the island of Antigua.

LDivers participating in the search operations after the shipwreck managed to enter the wreck of the luxury sailboat on Tuesday. “A long and complicated operation”, described the firefighters. The sailboat is in fact at a depth of 50 meters and 700 m from the port of Porticello. On Wednesday, in calm seas, the divers reached the search area in small inflatable boats, taking turns in teams of two. However, a coast guard official, Captain Vincenzo Zagarola, had already told Italian radio on Tuesday that he was “hard to imagine” that the research may end well. In total, of the 22 passengers and crew members on board the sailboat, 15 people were rescued and four are still missing.
