“It is with deep gratitude to the artisans of this series that I end this chapter of my professional life. District 31 has been, to this day, the biggest challenge of my career as an author. What an immense privilege to have been able to meet such a large audience four evenings a week for the past six years. The extraordinary creative freedom that I enjoyed alongside Fabienne and Michel as well as the unwavering support of Radio-Canada were essential elements of the great success that we share with the entire team at Le 31, ”declared Luc Dionne.

The producer Fabienne Larouche also wanted to explain the choice to stop the daily. “Having submitted to this demanding discipline myself, I know how writing a daily drama monopolizes our entire existence. Michel and I are grateful to Luc for having devoted six years of his life to it, deploying all his talent and his in-depth knowledge of police and judicial circles to weave endlessly fascinating intrigues. We are also grateful to all these actors and actresses and to the entire team who brilliantly embarked on this obstacle course, week after week ”.

As for Dany Meloul, general manager of the Télévision de Radio-Canada, she made a point of mentioning that “the love story between the public and the universe of District 31 marked an important chapter in Quebec television. It has greatly contributed to making ICI TÉLÉ the preferred destination for evening viewers since 2018-2019 ”.

Luc Dionne is currently working on a new TV series in 24 episodes which will be presented on Radio-Canada. This one is called DPCP. Details of this new production will be announced shortly.
