Distribution Center Automation | Quebec lends 30 million to Familiprix

Quebec lends 30 million to Familiprix to automate its distribution centers and invest in its IT infrastructure.

Government assistance will support total investments estimated at $76 million over a five-year period. The pharmacy chain, which has 430 branches in Quebec and New Brunswick, says it would create 230 jobs.

The company made the announcement on Wednesday in Quebec City, in the presence of the Minister for the Economy, Christopher Skeete. “By increasing its drug distribution capacity, Familiprix will be able to remain competitive,” comments the Minister.

Familiprix says the investments will help speed up order processing and develop e-commerce.

The intervention is carried out within the framework of the Essor program. Its objective is to accelerate business investment, in particular to increase productivity.
