(Los Angeles) Disney pushes back theatrical release dates for many of its upcoming titles, including the much-anticipated Big Guns sequels Indiana Jones and Black panther.
Disney Studios announced Monday that they are delaying the release of the fifth for nearly a year. Indiana Jones, directed by James Mangold (Logan) and produced by Steven Spielberg. This sequel, which does not yet have a title, but which sees the return of Harrison Ford as the famous adventurer archaeologist, is now due in theaters in June 2023.
The release of the new Black panther, Wakanda Forever, scheduled for July 2022, has also been postponed, by four months that one. The film is now due out in November 2022 in North American theaters.
Both films are currently in production.
Other Marvel titles, like Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Thor: Love and Thunder, The Marvels and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania were also all delayed for several months.
