During its “D23 Expo” festival, the biannual convention dedicated to Disney fans which is held this weekend at the Anaheim Convention Center near Los Angeles, the studio made several announcements likely to delight its admirers. Starting with a sequel to his animated film Vice versawhich had met with immense success and won the Oscar for best animated film in 2016.
Expected in the summer of 2024, Vice Versa 2 will reconnect with the emotions (joy, anger, fear, sadness, disgust) that coexist in the head of an introverted little girl, Riley. The plot unfolds again in Riley’s consciousness, but she has become a teenager and a new emotion should appear on this occasion.
Amy Poehler will once again voice the role of Joy, while Kelsey Mann will direct. “I read the script and it’s amazing“, promised Amy Poehler.
Fans of the great classics from the Mickey Mouse studio, which has just released a superb “live-action” version of Pinocchio by Robert Zemeckis, were served with the first images of the adaptation with the same technique of The little Mermaid. They were also able to see the first teaser of Mufasaprequel to the mythical Lion King.
American actor Harrison Ford, 80, unveiled on Saturday the trailer for the new installment of the Indiana Jones saga, fifth of the name in which he gives the reply to British actress Phoebe Waller-Bridge. He received a standing ovation.
On the side of Lucasfilm, a trailer for the series of space westerns has been unveiled The Mandalorianin the presence of actors Pedro Pascal, Giancarlo Esposito and Katee Sackhoff.
Also revealed is the trailer for the upcoming Star Wars series, Andorwhich recounts a rebellion against the empire.
The trailer for the sequel Enchanted (Once upon a timefor the French version), baptized Disenchanted (Once upon a time 2), was also unveiled at the “D23 Expo” in Los Angeles. The cast, which notably brings together Amy Adams and Patrick Dempsey, remains the same and the film is announced on Disney+ for November 24.
Regarding future Marvel Studio productions (owned by Disney), director Ryan Coogler has come to unveil a new unreleased extract (different from the one you can see below) from Wakanda ForeverFollowing Black Panther, expected on November 9 at the cinema …. without the formidable Chadwick Boseman, who died of cancer in August 2020, who played the emblematic superhero Black Panther.
Another announcement, that of the film elio from Pixar Studios (part of the Disney galaxy), which chronicles the adventures of an 11-year-old child who is accidentally propelled into an Earth Ambassador when he finds himself transported across the galaxy. Yonas Kibreab will play the role of the young boy, alongside America Ferrera (from the Ugly Betty series), who will play his mother, Olga.

Finally, Disney also showed images of Wish, which is set in an enchanted kingdom and explores the origins of magic and the band’s signature shooting star. Ariana DeBose, who triumphed at the 2022 Oscars for her role in West Side Storyhas joined the cast of this production which will be released in 2023, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the animation giant.
