Leaders of left-wing parties reached an agreement in principle to unite behind the banner of the Popular Front. What does this agreement include? How will the candidates be chosen?
Will they manage to campaign together? All day long, the Greens, the Insoumis, the socialists and the communists discussed. No white smoke yet, Tuesday evening June 11, but the negotiators are optimistic. After hours of negotiation, they agreed on the principle of a single candidacy in each constituency, under the same banner, the Popular Front. But the negotiations are far from over, whether on the names of the candidates or on the program.
There are still many areas of disagreement, particularly on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Another question: which headliner to potentially settle in Matignon? The names of Jean-Luc Mélenchon and François Ruffin do not seem to be unanimous. The former boss of the CFDT, mentioned Monday June 10 by Raphaël Glucksmann, has still not responded to this call.
