Discovery of the orchards of the Lande in Monségur, apples and kiwis from our home in a short circuit

Story, Chanteclerc, Chantegrise, Granny Smith, Royal Gala, Rubinette… we are currently harvesting at Vergers de la Lande in Monségur at Marie and Loïc Destaillats. Our producer couple is waiting for you at the shop at the farm from Tuesday to Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon and from 2 p.m. to 6.30 p.m. with your basket under your arm. Les Vergers de la Lande is above all a family business and an orchard initiated in 1984 by Loïc’s parents with kiwis at first. The first apple trees arrived in the 90s. When Loïc settled, new varieties were put in place. In 2019, Marie joined the farm and worked with Loïc on the restructuring of the orchard, its development and the marketing of fruit and processed products.

Fruit of course, but also juice, jellies, vinegar, etc.

We grant you to bite into an apple picked in the morning, it’s a treat. But drink a Apple juice from Les Vergers de la Lande, without any added sugar and made from a blend of three varieties, it’s heaven. Far from industrial fruit juices with dubious composition. What then of the Jelly Apples? A soft, round jelly, powerful in taste. Same thing for the Kiwi jelly, jam like nectar! And then there is the apple pulp vinegar, a real discovery. Nothing to do with cider vinegar, much sweeter, more floral, to be tested absolutely but beware it is a victim of its own success and stocks are running out quickly.
