As part of a report for Special Envoy, the France Télévisons teams went to Haiti, where gangs abound and even managed to get the Prime Minister, Ariel Henry, to leave his post on Monday March 11. Journalists met members of 103 Zonbi. They consider themselves undead, in the service of their leader. “It’s the only thing the country offers us. Most of the young people who have not yet left Haiti are like us“, confides one of them, hooded.
A life of young bandits
Another boasts: “We are the 103 Zonbi, we are the masters of the country.” On social networks, they display their lives as young bandits. They publish photos and videos of their loot accumulated through rackets and kidnappings. Some can fetch tens of thousands of dollars.
