Overheating in the skulls. More than 520,000 high school students worked, Wednesday, June 15, from 8 a.m., on the dreaded baccalaureate philosophy test, in the context of an exceptional heat wave throughout France. The final year students of the general and technological high schools worked on one of the three subjects offered: two essays and a text commentary.

Since the reform of 2019, the mark of the baccalaureate is based 40% on continuous assessment and 60% on final tests (French passed in first class, philosophy, specialty tests and the great oral, passed in final ).

General stream: art or the State

• “Is it up to the State to decide what is fair?”

• Comment on a text by mathematician Antoine-Augustin Cournot, Essay on the foundations of our knowledge and on the characteristics of philosophical criticism.

Philosophy represents a coefficient of 8 for general baccalaureate candidates (out of a total of 100).

Technological sector: freedom or justice

• “Does freedom consist in obeying no one?”

• “Is it right to defend your rights by all means?”

• Comment on a text of theEncyclopedia of the philosopher Denis Diderot.

Philosophy represents a coefficient of 4 for candidates for the technological baccalaureate.
