Frédéric Fougea’s documentary event “Mediterranean, the odyssey for life” will be broadcast from 9:10 p.m., Tuesday April 12, on France 2. Here are the first images.

The intense blue of the Mediterranean, as far as the eye can see: this is the setting of the documentary Mediterranean, the odyssey for life, directed by Frédéric Fougea. It looks like a series, with sea animal characters. In some images, turtles are fighting over territory. On others, a seahorse gives birth under the eyes of the cameras.

Two years of filming in fifteen different countries were necessary to report on a threatened but very much alive ecosystem. Thirty years after an oil spill, the wreck of an oil tanker is now home to corals and fish. If the Mediterranean suffers from pollution, the director wants to be positive. “There is hope. So, we also understand that he has difficulties, but it is not anxiety-provoking, we do not make you feel guilty. We show you, we tell you from the point of view of animals, what they live and how they can get out of it”comments Frederic Fougea.
