“This is the most delicate exercise in forming a government since the beginning of the Fifth Republic.”summed up a senior member of the presidential party on Thursday. Michel Barnier’s government team was finally announced on Saturday 21 September early in the evening, after more than two weeks of difficult negotiations between the different parties of the presidential coalition and the right. The list of 39 ministers, deputy ministers and secretaries of state was revealed by Alexis Kohler, the Secretary General of the Elysée.
