More than 7,000 voters participated online until June 13th for the selections of the third edition of the participatory budget organized by the city of Lille. They could each select up to five ideas. The list of 20 selected projects was unveiled this Sunday out of the 824 proposals submitted between November 2 and December 31, more than in previous years.
The 20 ideas selected will share a budget of two million euros, of which 500,000 euros specifically dedicated to projects led by children and young people from Lille, Lommois or Hellemmois, aged 9 to 18.
Discover the 20 selected projects
1. Animal shelters
Set up shelters with water and food for stray or abandoned animals. Project led by the Collège Jean Jaurès.
2. Make way for skateboarding, rollerblading and scooters
Install modules or bowls in different parts of the city for rollerblading, cycling and skateboarding. Project carried by the children of the educational spaces Bracke, Desrousseaux and Lavoisier, Municipal Council of Children, Elodie Valenti, Collège Jean Jaurès, Mavian Gregory, lautem Boubay, Louison, Guyonnet Kevin.
3. A tree house
Build a tree house connected to a ladder and a climbing wall. Project led by the Collège Jean Jaurès.
4. Charge your phone!
Multiply charging options in the city (connected solar benches, bicycle charging, etc.) to facilitate charging and reduce digital poverty for some. Project carried by the children of the educational spaces Duruy, Municipal Council of children, Lavigne Clément, the pupils of 5th Orangerie and Louvre of the College Jean Jaurès.
5. Cities in Lille
Install more multi-sports city stadiums (field, ping-pong table) and suitable for everyone, in the different districts of the city. Project led by Matthieu Wartel and the children of the Sophie Germain and Jouhaux educational spaces.
6. Piou-Piou cabin
Set up wooden cabins with binoculars to observe and teach children to recognize birds and local wildlife. Project led by Ines Deparnay-Delbos.
7. The games of the grown-ups
Add games suitable for over 10s, at the right size in the parks of Lille, Lomme and Hellemmes. Project supported by the Municipal Children’s Council.
8. Swimming pool on the Deûle
Build a pool for swimming on the Deûle, like the La Villette pool in Paris. Project led by the Collège Jean Jaurès.
9. Courses and sports modules in the city
Install sports spaces (street-workout, obstacle course, pull-up bars) with free access in Lille parks, suitable for young and old. Project led by El Omari Marwane, Children from the Lalo, Dupleix and Pasteur educational spaces, F. Baron, Municipal Children’s Council and students from the 5th Louvre.
10. Time Capsule
Invite Lille residents to create “time capsules”, messages that will be kept and then transmitted to future generations on the planned opening date, in 2222. Project led by Brandère Hugues and the École Littré Lille.
11. Children’s play areas accessible to as many people as possible
Set up multiple play areas (games for the little ones, bike area, zip line area for the older ones, etc.) adapted to the high temperatures and crowds. Project led by Vinckier Pauline.
12. More bees in Lille
Install beehives in cemeteries to improve the quality of life for bees in the city. Project supported by the Municipal Children’s Council.
13. Children’s playground
Set up a play area for children, in a natural environment, in the squares and gardens of the city. Project led by Malika.
14. Present Light
That in less frequented places, the light is turned off and turned on thanks to a presence detector. A project of the Municipal Children’s Council.
15. Games for all and all happy
Install games adapted for children with disabilities in city parks so that all children can play together. Project supported by the Municipal Children’s Council.
16. Install fountains
Install double water fountains, with a low area for animals and a high area for people. Project led by Priest Dorienne.
17. Deposit-collection of books, games and toys
Install containers to give a second life to books, toys or board games by donating them to associations for sick and/or hospitalized children. Project led by the children of the Briand educational space.
18. Donation Cabinets
Develop solidarity spaces in the city (donation cabinets for games, books, winter clothes for the homeless, hygiene products, etc.). Project led by the children of the Briand, Boufflers, Cabanis, Turgot and Wagner educational spaces, Maurel Esther, Municipal Children’s Council, Jean Jaurès College, Lartiziens Raphaëlle, Cousin Maria, Causchet Joséphine
19. Welcome the birds to Lille
Make Lille a suitable space for birds, by creating specific spaces for local species and by setting up observation points in the districts. Project led by D’hondt Maureen.
20. Drinking fountains in Lomme
Install drinking water fountains in the parks of Lomme and the Marais district. Project led by the Collège Jean Jaurès.
