Following the announcements of the Prime Minister, Jean Castex, Monday December 6, nightclubs will have to close for at least four weeks from Friday December 10. In the event sector, also penalized, evening cancellations are linked.

From Friday December 10, no more music or dancers in nightclubs. Prime Minister Jean Castex announced Monday, December 6 the closure of these establishments for four weeks, in order to limit the spread of the virus. The manager of a nightclub in Montpellier (Herault) assures him: the month of December is however the most important of the year for his establishment. “It will be expensive especially since we are warned two days before”, he explains. He is now asking for new help.

The entire event industry is affected by government encouragement to limit gatherings. The cancellations of business evenings have been linked for a few days. “Today, the business manager takes responsibility and does not want to create a cluster. What is unfortunate is that we are shutting down a whole activity, a whole sector”, deplores the manager of an events company in Tourcoing (North). The government has announced that players in this sector could continue to receive partial unemployment.
