(Montreal) The family of Marilyn Bergeron, who has been missing since February 2008, hopes that the testimony of a man who says he welcomed her into his home in December 2009, in a small town in eastern Ontario, will help elucidate the disappearance .

The parents of the disappeared, Michel Bergeron and Andrée Béchard, held a press briefing on Friday morning, along with lawyer Marc Bellemare and the witness in question, in Hawkesbury, a town located on the Quebec border.
Guy Salicco said that Marilyn Bergeron rang his doorbell in the early hours of a rainy night. She was soaked and cold. The woman from Quebec was then looking for rue Chamberlain in Hawkesbury.
Mr. Sallico and his spouse invited her inside their residence where she made a phone call, but no answer. Marilyn Bergeron left after about 15 minutes, refusing an accompaniment to rue Chamberlain, said Mr. Sallico. It was only later that he realized she was missing and alerted law enforcement.
This testimony “proves that Marilyn was alive in December 2009 and she is possibly, probably still alive somewhere, or if not, something happened”, declared Mr.e Bellemare, who was Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Quebec in 2003 and 2004
“Whether she’s alive or dead, something happened. His journey, what is it? Can people help us understand the evolution that Marilyn has known since 2008”, he continued.
Mme Béchard still hopes to find his daughter alive, “but with a reservation”. “Because you have to be so realistic. We may have lost her, but if we lost her and there is someone who knows what could have happened to Marilyn, we would like to put an end to our nightmare”, she affirmed.
On February 17, 2008, Marilyn Bergeron, then 24, left her parents’ house to take a walk, she told them. We haven’t heard from her since.
