Sunday, June 18, a tourist submarine disappeared near the Titanic, in the Atlantic Ocean. Three days later, search teams are still hard at work trying to find the submersible. The crew members only have a few hours of oxygen left.

On Wednesday, June 21, an ever-growing armada of boats is in search of the Titan submarine. The submersible and its occupants will run out of oxygen on Thursday. However, the hope has not completely disappeared. Noises, repeated every 30 minutes, were heard last night. It is currently impossible to know if they come from the submersible. Rescuers cling to this hope, the only lead they have.

Reinforcement boats

The good news is that we are looking in the area where these noises were detected, and we will continue“, assures Captain Jami Frederick. To capture these sounds, an airplane dropped acoustic buoys into the ocean near the Titanic. They do not make it possible to determine exactly where the sounds come from. In the area of disappearance, five boats are now present, soon reinforced by five additional ships. The Atlante, a French boat equipped with a robot, will join the area. The reliability of the submarine is now in doubt.
