Disappearance of Delphine Jubillar: What is Cédric’s lawyer accused of?

Considered the number one suspect in the case concerning the disappearance of Delphine Jubillar which occurred in Cagnac-les-Mines on the night of December 15 to 16, 2020, Cédric has been imprisoned in Toulouse-Seysses prison since June 18, 2021 and placed under investigation for “spousal homicide”. Big twist, some lawyers for the 34-year-old painter-plasterer are now also the subject of an investigation. According to PointMe Alary (lawyer for Cédric Jubillar) and Me Jessica Chefaroudi, former lawyer for Nadine Fabre (mother of Cédric Jubillar) are suspected of having exerted pressure on the mother of the indicted man.

These pressures were allegedly committed in September 2021, after Nadine Fabre contacted a regional radio station during a program called 100% clairvoyance. Not thinking of being recorded, Cédric’s mother had then expressed her doubts concerning the innocence of her son in the disappearance of Delphine Jubillar, and had even confided to being “convinced” that her son was guilty. She had notably asked a medium from the show to try to locate the corpse of the nurse in order to “finally offer him a decent burial“.

Before police custody in June, I was convinced of my son’s innocence, after police custody and everything the gendarmes showed me, I am unfortunately convinced of my son’s guilt”, she had notably indicated during this exchange. Quickly, Nadine had recontacted the radio so that her testimony would not be broadcast publicly. However, a few days later, excerpts from the call were published in an article shared on the radio’s website, the latter believing that it was in its right.

Nadine Fabre’s lawyer, Me Chefaroudi, then threatened to attack the station 100% wireless for fraud and invasion of privacy. This had finally reached an agreement with the radio. Nadine will grant them an exclusive interview in exchange for the deletion of her first testimony. During this second interview, Cédric Jubillar’s mother had of course retracted her confession about her son’s possible guilt and said to herself “extremely disturbed“at the time of his first testimony.

It was after this second appearance on the radio that Cédric’s mother would have received pressure from Me Jean-Baptiste Alary and Me Jessica Chefaroudi who would have pushed him not to change lawyers. Nadine Fabre did not let herself go since she is now represented by Mes Antoine Vey and Géraldine Vallat, two lawyers from the Paris Bar.

For this new case, the Attorney General will try to find out “whether there has indeed been a breach of ethics and, if so, try to understand why, for what purpose. If no breach is found, he can classify the report on the ethical level. He can also initiate disciplinary action, initiate an ethics investigation or even launch a criminal investigation..” Cédric Jubillar’s lawyer has not yet wished to react to this investigation.

Cédric Jubillar remains presumed innocent of the charges against him until the final judgment of this case.
