A 14-year-old girl with dysphasia and mild intellectual disability was thrown into the mouth of the wolf by her own mother in order to “educate her sexually”. A 62-year-old Laval resident and the mother of the victim – herself disabled – admitted to having sexually assaulted the teenager in 2020.

Giancarlo Camozzato pleaded guilty to one count of sexual contact with a teenager under the age of 16, on July 29, at the Montreal courthouse. However, the judge has not yet declared him officially guilty for a technical reason.
A 55-year-old Montrealer, the victim’s mother, also pleaded guilty to the same charge in early July, in a separate proceeding. Unlike her accomplice, the mother did not make any gesture of a sexual nature on her daughter. We cannot name the accused in order to protect the identity of the minor victim.
It should be noted that the victim’s mother, like her daughter, has a slight intellectual disability. However, she was declared responsible for her actions by a psychiatrist. She has since been accepted into a rehabilitation center for intellectual disabilities.
To do her daughter’s sex education, the mother visited Giancarlo Camozzato with the teenager on a few occasions in February 2020. The first time, when the man was lying in bed, the teenager put her hand on his penis, without making any gesture of masturbation. The victim’s mother then also touched the sex of the accused. Another time, the teenager touched the accused’s penis with her teeth.
On another occasion, Giancarlo Camozzato touched the teenager’s vulva under her clothes as the trio slept in the same bed. The mother, however, did not witness the gesture, according to the summary of the facts presented in court.
Submissions on sentencing will take place next fall in these cases. Reports on the profile of the accused should be prepared to help the court hand down the sentence.
