He was one of the most promising young talents in French broadcasting. Director Valentin Petit died on Saturday May 20 at the age of 32. The local daily The Republican Berry reveals that the young man died in a plane crash while flying over Switzerland.

An open investigation

The exact circumstances of the accident are not yet determined. According to the Neuchâtel police, contacted by Republican Berry, the plane crashed In “a zone of forest, in a sector difficult to access”. The pilot, Valentin Petit and the person accompanying him, aged around 30, are all deceased. An investigation has been opened in Switzerland by the public prosecutor of the Confederation. In the columns of the daily, his father Didier specifies that “it was a birthday present that someone close to him had given him“.

French broadcasting is losing one of its most fashionable talents. Valentin Petit made a name for himself by directing video clips for French and international artists. His career is a succession of famous singers: Rosalia, Pharrell Williams, Roméo Elvis, Nekfeu, Raphaël… In his clips, the director demonstrated all his inventiveness, his freshness and his talent. The recipe for success, since most of his videos accumulate tens of millions of views.

The young man has also produced numerous advertisements: Balmain, Puma, Ubisoft, Adidas, Peugeot… He had also been at the helm of the presentation video for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. His parents, interviewed by Republican Berry, evoke a son “passionate and creative, who had given himself the means to live the life he wanted”.
