Leah Rinaldi is the guest of 12/13 info, Tuesday October 31. She signs the documentary The Lair of Oppositeswhich comes out in theaters on Wednesday, November 1, and which evokes the daily life of a circus school. Why this title? “It’s the name of the marquee of ‘The Company of Opposites’. It is an eponymous title which speaks of this magical place, located at the bottom of [immeubles, NDLR] from the town of Chanteloup-les-Vignes which is in Yvelines”explains the director, who specifies that it is “one of the poorest suburbs of Île-de-France”known thanks to the film La Haine.

A “committed” author

Asked about the origins of the project, Léa Rinaldi answers : “I carried this project over several years thanks to Neusa Thomasi [la directrice de la compagnie, NDLR] who came to pick me up from my production office. (…) She was driven by a desire to document the construction of a permanent marquee that the government would grant her (…) to try to establish culture.” The director is delighted with the reception given to the film, particularly in the suburbs. “I think it’s a touching film because it’s a film made with lots of love”assures the one who qualifies as an author “engaged”.
