Quebec director François Simard, who is part of the team behind the success Turbo Kidwas formally accused of sexual assault against two children on Thursday at the Quebec courthouse.
According to court documents consulted by Dutyhe faces four counts of assault and sexual contact for events that occurred between March 1 and June 10, in Lévis and Mexico.
The complainants were 9 and 11 years old at the time of the facts, according to the indictment. Their identities are protected under a publication ban.
Mr. Simard, 42, is part of the RKSS collective (Road Kill Superstars), along with Anouk and Yoann-Karl Whissell. Specialists in genre films, the trio enjoyed international success in 2015 with their science fiction film Turbo Kidhis first feature film which starred Laurence Leboeuf and Michael Ironside. The film was also adapted into a video game.
RKSS has since produced three other feature films: Summer of 84, We are Zombies And Wake Up.
A sequence of Turbo Kid would currently be in preparation.
