The illustrious director Franco Dragone is dead. The news was confirmed Friday in a press release from Cirque du Soleil. Of Belgian origin, he had signed some of the most iconic productions of the Quebec company, including Saltimbanco (1992) and Alegria (1994).
In total, Franco Dragone has performed around ten shows with Cirque du Soleil. He also worked with Celine Dion for her first residency concert in Las Vegas, A New Daylaunched in 2003.
Born in 1952, Franco Dragone died at the age of 69 following a heart attack. He is survived by circus and film communities around the world.
