The action of the filmmaker’s 12th feature film takes place in several sites in the Rhône department. “An Honest Woman” brings together a five-star cast.
In the paths of the park Golden head of Lyon, the edges of the lake, usually frequented by walkers, have taken on the appearance of film studios. Filmmaker Emmanuel Mouret set up his cameras for the filming of his new film, An honest woman.
In the cast of this twelfth feature film by the filmmaker, Sara Forestier, Grégoire Ludig, Camille Cottin but also Vicent Macaigne, India Hair and Damien Bonnard. Until November 16, the actors and the film crew took up residence in the capital of Gaul.
“Lyon is a bit like On the road to Madison”
All the action ofAn honest woman takes place in Lyon and its surroundings. A first for Emmanuel Mouret who discovers the beauty and light of the region. “I must admit that I didn’t know Lyon, it’s very beautiful, you could almost think of ‘On the Road to Madison’ with Clint Eeastwood. In a large city like Lyon we have a whole variety of settings which are interesting for a filmmaker”, he confides.
Emmanuel Mouret has been giving cinema screenings a special flavor for 26 years. After Things we say, things we do, Chronicle of a fleeting affair Or Miss de Joncquières, the filmmaker once again probes romantic torments. Expert in a certain form of filmed marivaudage, great admirer of Eric Rohmer, Sacha Guitry or Woody Allen, with An honest woman he explores the intersecting destinies of three women, each guided by a very different vision of love.
Rhône-Alpes Auvergne: land of cinema
An honest woman is co-produced by Arte and Auvergne Rhône-Alpes Cinéma. This film is part of the long list of films filmed in the region. This year, around fifteen projects were able to see the light of day thanks to grants. “The choice we made here is to accommodate all varieties of filming, whether first films or established authors like Emmanuel Mouret. That represents a little over a thousand days of filming, which is huge”, explains Grégory Faes, director of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes Cinéma.
The production company also finances the filming of fiction series for platforms and television. This is particularly the case of Dead at the top, currently broadcast on France 2, whose action takes place in Savoie.
For the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, film production also produces great economic momentum. Hotel, food, use of extras or regional technicians, on average, one euro invested in a film by Auvergne Rhône-Alpes Cinéma allows you to win seven in the region.
Synopsis:
