More than 400 billion budget. The Head of State could specify on Friday the amount he intends to devote to defense over the next seven years. This budget could exceed 400 billion euros after a 2019-2025 military programming law which had devoted 295 billion euros to defense, ending years of budget cuts in the armies.
Gaps to fill. Lhe war in Ukraine has brought to light weaknesses in the French military system. “We all have to do some introspection”, insists the Elysée.
