Organized by the creative agency Les Prétentieux and the company Jack World, in partnership with Culture Montérégie, the 6e edition of Maillage Numérique will bring together and present actors from the digital and cultural communities of the Montérégie region for an evening on June 6th.
The Maillage Numérique event, which takes place once a year, will be held at the premises of the Jack World company, which specializes in the production of tailor-made creative experiences, in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu. which begins at 6 p.m., has the theme Creativity: between materialization and dematerialization. It will culminate with the presentation of eight digital projects — in creation, in progress or completed — in front of an audience. Art installations, giant puppets, virtual spaces for artists are the few projects that will be unveiled on stage.
“Each person will have six minutes. For example, if someone is in mapping video and decides to say: “Well, I would like to do this, I’m in design, but I will need a technician”, maybe someone in the room can help him or refer him to someone else. So the goal is to connect people,” explains Clément Delacroix, digital development officer at Culture Montérégie. Three other projects will also be presented through capsules.
Gather and be inspired
During the second part of the evening, four digital professionals will discuss topics affecting their field during a panel moderated by Michaël Jacques, President of Jack World. “In Montérégie, it’s teeming with people in the art world. The event allows local artists to shine, while bringing them together. By giving them visibility, it shows that the region has plenty of strings to its bow,” believes Mr. Delacroix.
Before the pandemic, Maillage Numérique was organized twice a year. Following the sanitary measures put in place in 2020, the editions were reduced to one, then the 4e edition had to take place entirely online. “If the demand is there, if the possibility is there, it would be good to organize this event twice a year in the future, as in its first edition,” he hopes.
For Clément Delacroix, this meeting between different professionals in the digital field can be inspiring. “In art and digital, exchange is often a source of innovation,” he believes.
