Known for his many escapades, Diego Maradona is today accused by Mavys Alvarez Rego, a 37-year-old Cuban with whom he allegedly had a relationship as a minor, of alleged sexual violence and abuse. The young woman spoke in the Argentinian press on this story and their meeting which quickly turned into a nightmare. “I was dazzled, he conquered me (…). But after two months everything started to change “, she says. The former idol would then have pushed him to take cocaine. “I loved him but I hated him too, I even thought about suicide”, she confides today.
Held against her will and raped
Obviously still marked by this relationship, the Cuban says that during a trip to Buenos Aires with the former footballer, she was held against her will in a hotel by relatives of Diego Maradona. She would even have been forced to undergo breast augmentation surgery. During their relationship that lasted “between 4 and 5 years”, Mavys Alvarez Rego reveals thatshe would have been “raped” once in Havana by the former athlete and that she suffered physical violence.
An Argentinian organization decided to file a complaint after hearing the Cuban’s confessions. He accuses Diego Maradona of human trafficking, reduction in servitude, assault and battery as well as deprivation of liberty. For now, it is not yet known whether a trial is scheduled in this case.
