Did doctors at the Nancy-Lorraine private hospital, in Meurthe-et-Moselle, perform dialysis abusively? After receiving reports from two whistleblowers, the Renaloo patient association decided to file a complaint.
Was there dialysis carried out abusively in the Nancy-Lorraine private hospital (Meurthe-et-Moselle)? Eight months ago, two whistleblowers obtained medical records. They suspect serious professional misconduct. In a room of the clinic, between 2018 and 2023, around thirty patients were wrongly dialyzed. A heavy, expensive and invasive treatment. They then decide to notify a patient association, Renaloo, which files a complaint.
An independent commission set up
At the request of Renaloo, an independent commission, specializing in public health issues, was set up. She noticed “acts of medical mistreatment, endangerment of vulnerable people and serious deviations from good medical practices”. For its part, the establishment requested an independent expertise last September. Conclusions have been drawn. From now on, each dialysis must be validated by a doctor outside the clinic. For now, the Regional Health Agency has launched an assessment. The Nancy public prosecutor’s office must decide whether or not to open an investigation.
