And the show, broadcast on TF1 between 1987 and 1997, was a great feat for French TV. Jacky remembers: “I think it’s the first time that a show had 3 hosts and 2 hosts (Dorothée, Jacky, Ariane Carletti, François Corbier and Patrick Simpson-Jones, editor’s note). We knew each other very well, we were behind the camera as well as in front of the camera, it worked, the mayonnaise took hold, we broadcast the first mangas in France (Dragon Ball Z, Knights of the Zodiac, Ranma ½, Nicky Larson or even Sailor Moon, Princess Sarah, Olive and Tom, editor’s note)we were the first, that’s a whole set of things.”
About the star of the program, Jacky was full of praise. He admits thus: “Dorothée taught me everything on TV. When she arrived on set, she was aware of everything: the sound, the light. She was a very hard worker, I think that if you don’t work, you don’t succeed, even if you have talent. She gave more than her opinion. She has character, and that’s more of a compliment from me.”
“Absolutely not”
Should we imagine that there was more than professional between Dorothée and Jacky? To this, the latter assured this Tuesday: “absolutely not”. And to explain about the very discreet blonde: “Dorothee is very reserved, because I think she must think that private life should remain private and she is right.”
