Developed in Montreal, the Parky.AI app will help you decipher parking signs

For many motorists – including me – understanding parking signs resembles an obstacle course or the twelve labors of Asterix.

The Montreal company Ateliers Underlabs came to our rescue by developing an intelligent application that deciphers parking signs.

Thanks to the artificial intelligence of this application, users only have to take a photo of one or more parking signs and the Parky.AI application instantly tells them if they can park there at this precise moment.

Accurate up to 83%

According to the AI developers, Parky.AI can decipher parking signs with an accuracy of over 83% for individual signs and 74% for groups of signs.

The app provides faster response than a human could read and scan signs, allowing users to confidently navigate Montreal’s complex parking regulations.

No account needed, no data about you is kept

In addition, Parky.AI adheres to the strictest privacy policy, without the need to create an account or use GPS or IP location data. Data is only sent if the user reports an inaccuracy, and even then, only the read and response is stored on the Quebec server to improve AI accuracy.

Parky.AI is available today (May 10) on the App Store and can be used for free. In the coming months, new features will be added, including reminders to move the car when parking restrictions come into effect.

An Android version?

To our question if there will be an Android version of Parky.AI, the Montreal company confirmed that yes, users of Android devices will soon be able to install it:

Absolutely, since there are multiple AI models to achieve this result with Parky.AI, our software engineers are also working on the Android version. We plan to release it in late May or early June.
