Vrana will therefore not be able to help his team on the ice until he receives the necessary help from the players’ association.
The winger registered two points in his first two games of the season. His coach, Derek Lalonde, said a few days ago that the 26-year-old Czech was sidelined for personal reasons.
On Wednesday night, the Red Wings confirmed the news that Vrana would be out indefinitely, adding that they won’t offer further details.
Vrana was a Washington Capitals first-round pick in 2014. He has 189 points in 323 games since joining the NHL.
