Detroit Red Wings | David Perron suspended six games for his double failure

(Dallas) Red Wings forward David Perron has been suspended six games by the NHL for his double-checking of Ottawa Senators defenseman Artem Zub following a hit on Dylan Larkin, leaving the Red Wings captain on the ground.

Perron was sent off for attempted injury when he double-checked Zub’s neck in the first period of Saturday’s match. Larkin was lying on the ice, without moving, after having received or double check behind the head, from Mathieu Joseph of the Senators.

Perron will lose US$148,437.48 in salary during his suspension. This money will go to the emergency aid fund for players.

Larkin was placed on injured reserve, along with left wing J. T. Compher and center Klim Kostin, whose injuries were not disclosed.
