Where does the intox come from?
Thirty-three years after its last title, Naples was crowned Italian football champion, following the victory of SSC Napoli against Udinese. An event that caused demonstrations of joy by Neapolitan supporters in the streets of the city, as evidenced by many videos, including this particularly impressive one (this video ) and seen 6 million times, where you can see a sky flooded with pink fireworks all along the road from which the scene is captured. Posted on twitter, the images were accompanied by the following message: “Here we are in Naples, the extraordinary celebrations continue, surreal in a certain sense”. And with this hashtag: “#napleschampionofitaly”.
Another video, posted several times the same evening on twitter (here Or there), with, among other things, the hashtag #Napleschampion, also amazed internet users. There are lots of fireworks filmed by a drone flying over the city of Campania and exploding simultaneously throughout the city.
Why is this wrong?
In the comments accompanying the first video, Internet users quickly recalled that these images had been taken in October 2020, at the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the creation of the Torcida Split, a group of supporters of the football club Hajduk Split, in Croatia. And not in Naples. You can find the video in this tweet from October 2020, or similar images in this tweet broadcast a few months later, but referring to the same event.
As for the second video, it was indeed shot in Naples, but actually dates from December 31, 2020, during the transition to the new year, and had been broadcast on Youtube through online media Fanpage.itmore than two years ago.
This does not detract from the joy of the Neapolitan supporters expressed during the historic victory of their club.
