On Twitter and Telegram, several Internet users, especially Russian speakers, have been circulating for several months front pages of special issues of the weekly Charlie Hebdo on which Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky appears caricatured as a dog.

The latest broadcast since September 20 shows King Charles III exclaiming “Aaaaaa mum” after seeing that the dog-looking Ukrainian head of state had tagged his mother’s remains by replacing the N in Queen with an R for write Queer Elizabeth. In English, the word “queer” which means “weird” is used to refer to people who do not identify with heterosexuality or cisidentity. The drawing appears to be signed by June, one of the newspaper’s cartoonists.

Another front page, broadcast at the end of August, showed Emmanuel Macron spraying naked people with a water cannon, telling them “Stay at home and don’t revolt. Zelensky then appeared sniffing a bowl in the colors of Europe.

The line of the drawing is the same as that of September, while the signature this time is that of the designer Coco.

In reality, none of these front pages were produced by the cartoonists of Charlie Hebdo, as can be seen in the catalog of the weekly. This is an attempt at manipulation to suggest that the famously outspoken newspaper is ridiculing the Ukrainian president.

But since the start of the invasion of Ukraine, Zelensky has never appeared on the front page of the newspaper, which is not the case with Vladimir Putin, drawn at least 4 times, including one in his simplest form.
