“He never pushed me or threw me down any stairs,” said Kate Moss by videoconference from England, outside the court hearing in Fairfax, near the American capital Washington.
Johnny Depp assures that his ex-wife Amber Heard ruined his reputation by claiming, in a column published in 2018, to have been the victim of domestic violence two years earlier. He rejects these allegations and claims 50 million in damages.
The 36-year-old actress counterattacked and asked for the double, claiming to have suffered years of violence, including a rape in 2015, and accusing her ex-husband of having wanted to “ruin his career”.
During her deposition on May 5, Amber Heard described a violent argument with her husband in March 2015 and mentioned a rumor that Johnny Depp had at the time pushed Kate Moss down a flight of stairs.
The 48-year-old model, in a relationship with the star of the saga Pirates of the Caribbean between 1994 and 1998, was called to testify by Johnny Depp’s lawyers.
They asked him to recount an incident that happened during the couple’s vacation in Jamaica.
“We were leaving the room and Johnny left before me. There had been a thunderstorm and when I left the room I slipped down the stairs and injured my back,” she said.
“And I screamed because I didn’t know what had just happened to me and I was in pain. He came running back to help me and carried me to my room and got me medical help,” the model continued during a short three-minute intervention.
Amber Heard’s lawyers did not wish to question Kate Moss.
The trial, which has been going on since April 11, is due to end on Friday, and its outcome remains uncertain.
