The electro and alternative rock formation, inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2020, will be at the Videotron Center in Quebec City on April 9 and three days later in Montreal at the Bell Center. Depeche Mode, now a duo since the death of keyboardist Andy Fletcher earlier this year, will begin its world tour on March 23 in Sacramento with a limited series of 10 dates in North American amphitheaters. He will then travel to Europe for a summer tour which will stop in particular at the Stade de France in Paris, the Olympic Stadium in Berlin, the San Siro Stadium in Milan and the Twickenham Stadium in London.

“We started working on Memento Mori at the start of the pandemic and these themes were directly inspired by this period, explains guitarist Martin Gore. After Fletch passed away, we decided to continue, because we are convinced that this is what he would have wanted and it really gave a special meaning to the project. »

“Fletch would have loved this album,” says lead singer Dave Gahan. We really can’t wait to share it with you soon and we can’t wait to present it to you in live at next year’s concerts. »

The tour Memento Mori will be the 19e for Depeche Mode, but his first in five years. The tour Global Spirit, presented in 2017 and 2018 in front of more than 3 million fans during 130 shows in Europe and North America, was the group’s longest to date. Throughout its long career, which began in 1980, Depeche Mode has sold more than 100 million records and performed in front of more than 35 million spectators all over the world.

The sale of tickets to the general public will begin this Friday, October 7 at 9 a.m., but some tickets will also be available for presale from the day before.
