Dennis Schroder joins the Raptors

Dennis Schroder was drawn to the mix of young players and veterans at the Raptors, and also the idea of ​​working with new coach Darko Rajakovic.


Schroder was officially introduced to the media on Wednesday. A few weeks ago, there were rumors that he had agreed to a two-year, $26 million pact with the Toronto club.

Schroder averaged 12.6 points and 4.5 assists with the Lakers last season. He took part in 66 games, 50 of which as a starter.

He is expected to become the starting point guard for the Raptors following the departure of Fred VanVleet to Houston.

Schroder was drafted 17e in 2013, by the Hawks.

His career average is 14 points per game. He also played with OKC and Boston.

Schroder played in 68 playoff games, averaging 11.9 points.

Last season with the Lakers, Schroder was the team’s leading scorer on six occasions. He was also their best passer in 12 games.
