Liberal leadership candidate and former Montreal mayor Denis Coderre is in the sights of Revenu Québec, which is demanding $66,373 from him.
The amount, assessed under the Tax lawcovers the years 2021 and 2022, according to a legal mortgage published on a house that he owns jointly with his former wife, in Montreal North. However, only Denis Coderre’s name appears on the document.
The Press tried to reach Denis Coderre, but he did not answer. According to The Montreal Journalhe stressed on Wednesday that the house is now “inhabited exclusively” by his “ex-wife”, with whom he is “in the final process of separation at the end of the month”.

During his failed attempt to retake Montreal’s mayoralty in 2021, Denis Coderre had to reveal his income under pressure from journalists, who demanded the full list of companies for which he had been a consultant.
The former federal minister had revealed a salary of $458,263, more than twice the salary of Montreal Mayor Valérie Plante, including $93,835 in federal MP pension and $364,428 in dividends from his management company.
Denis Coderre also declared having paid Quebec and federal taxes totaling $187,850 in 2020.
