Farmers are mobilized in several European countries, notably Spain, on Tuesday February 13. Demonstrations and blockades are still ongoing.
Spanish farmers have not taken off for eight days. Actions are multiplying across the country. In Barcelona, on Tuesday February 13, they blocked access to the Catalan equivalent of the Rungis market (Val-de-Marne). While the movement has run out of steam elsewhere in Europe, farmers in Spain, Poland and Greece are also expressing their unease. Everyone has their sights set on the burden of European regulations and want standards to be relaxed. Too many constraints which, in Spain, add to the drought which has been raging for three years. Farmers also denounce prices that are too low and competition from foreign products, which they consider unfair.
In Poland, the problem of Ukrainian grains
In Poland, the country may support kyiv, but the entry into Europe of Ukrainian cereals is not happening. Farmers dumped a whole load on the road. The government is considering banning the import of products from Ukraine to protect its farmers.
