Saturday, April 1, they were more than 3,000 to demonstrate against the pension reform in Vire, electoral stronghold of the Prime Minister. No clash is to be deplored.
In Vire, a small town of 15,000 inhabitants of Calvados, more than 3,000, on Saturday April 1, took to the streets to demonstrate against the highly contested pension reform. A record that shows that this social revolt has also taken root in the region. “I lost my job at 57 and when you’re at RSA afterwards, you don’t validate a quarter. That means precariousness until you’re 64”explains a protester.
A “logical” manifestation
This exceptional mobilization in the electoral stronghold of Elisabeth Borne represents a real disavowal for the Prime Minister, which includes the mayor of Vire. “The symbol also counts in the social struggle in politics. So indeed, that there was a demonstration organized here, in Vire, it seems logical”, declares Marc-Andreu Sabater. At the end of the afternoon, the procession ended up dispersing in peace.
