“No to everything”, “Free Amalega” or “Natural immunity matters and lockdown kills” (Natural immunity counts and confinement kills) could be read on the placards of the demonstrators, gathered at La Fontaine Park, in the sector of the Plateau-Mont-Royal.

The cold did not dampen the ardor of opponents of sanitary measures, who then stormed the streets to head to the foot of Mount Royal.

“I am very disappointed [et] a little depressed these days. I find that we have reached something that looks a little more like a dictatorship than real freedom, “said Irina Constantinescu, who took part in the march, at The Press.

She believes that the current measures are “destroying” the health system, within which she works. “All the money that was put in there, in this crisis, it could have been used for something else”, mentioned Mme Constantinescu. She believes that “punitive sanctions” should not be imposed on unvaccinated citizens.

Irina Constantinescu received two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. “But not because I believe in it,” she said. She received her first injection because she feared losing her job in the health field, and the second to reassure her family as the holiday season approached.

This rally comes as Quebec reports 56 fewer hospitalizations related to COVID-19 on Saturday, 68 additional deaths.
