The students of the Delphine Gay high school in Bourganeuf will have to stay at home this Monday January 10 and Tuesday January 11. The establishment is unable to accommodate them following a lack of supervisors. Almost all of the school life team is in fact in isolation because of covid-19.
Bourganeuf high school boarding school had already had to close Wednesday, January 5, for lack of supervisors. The establishment accommodates around 400 young people : students, apprentices or trainees in vocational training.
During this first week of January, the epidemic did not spare the students either because 70 of them had to return home because they were positive for covid-19 or case-contact.
Distance courses provided
Students will be able to follow all their courses remotely. The teachers got ready this Friday, January 7. Computers were also loaned to students who did not have them.
The reopening of the lycée and the boarding school on Wednesday is subject to conditions: it will be necessary that enough supervisors have emerged from their isolation, or reinforcements come in so that the establishment can function normally.
“Tuesday January 11th we will reassess the situation to see if we can resume normal service”, summarizes Laurence Chronopoulos, the principal.
