Delays on stage | Madonna’s team hits back

Sued for her delays on stage, Madonna and her team fight back. A week after two fans filed a civil complaint, his entourage and promoter Live Nation indicated in a joint statement that they intend to “vigorously defend this case.”

According to the document, cited by ABC and Billboardthe North American portion of the tour Celebration opened “as planned” at the Barclays Center in New York, “except for a technical problem on December 13 during the sound check. »

Michael Fellows and Jonathan Hadden, who filed a complaint against the singer on January 17, offer another version of the facts.

“The three evenings of concerts at the Barclays Center were supposed to start at 8:30 p.m., but Madonna did not arrive on stage until 10:30 p.m. and the spectators left the room after 1 a.m.,” denounce the two plaintiffs in a court document 18 pages.

“Madonna demonstrated difficulty and a certain lack of attitude in being on time or completing her shows […] with the consequence of waiting hours for the concerts to start […] and being stuck in the middle of the night” to get home, the complaint continues.

During her first of two concerts in Montreal on January 18, Madonna took the stage at 9:50 p.m.
