“Del Horizonte”, Boogát | The duty

Between San Cristobal Baile Inn (2017) and this new album, the singer-songwriter Boogát has not been idle, chaining collaborations and directorships (the album Soap Box of Waahli, among other successes). In Del Horizonte expresses the unifying vision of the musician, who finds in Afro-Latin rhythms so many opportunities to forge links with other musical cultures. The album opens and ends in the club — danceable and modern + Than 1 Chingx And Siempre Bailowith the singer Maï — and zigzags between hip-hop (succulent Crea Magicwith Waahli and DJ Shub), cumbia (Promise of Regreso), reggaeton and salsa. The warm sound of the excellent orchestra that Boogát has assembled around him ensures the cohesion of this set of songs, among which we will listen again and again to the frenetic and visionary In Number of La Pazcollaboration with Toronto musician (and actor) of Iraqi origin Ahmed Moneka, and the unstoppable Illegalon a rhythm designed by the Texan El Dusty, father of cumbia electronica.
