Defenseman David Reinbacher is back in North America and officially joined the Laval Rocket on Monday morning.
This was confirmed by the Montreal Canadiens through his account on the social network X.
Reinbacher, who was the fifth pick in the last NHL draft, scored one goal and collected 10 assists in 35 games this season with HC Kloten. The Swiss club, however, was recently eliminated from the Swiss National League.
This was the 19-year-old Austrian’s third season with HC Kloten.
According to the American Hockey League website, Reinbacher will wear number 64 with the Rocket. We do not know when he will join his new Rocket teammates, and the date of his first match with the Habs school club.
The Rocket will practice at Place Bell on Tuesday before playing three games in as many evenings later this week. He will first face the Senators in Belleville on Friday and Saturday, before crossing swords with the Marlies in Toronto on Sunday.
