Decrease of 27 hospitalizations related to COVID-19 in Quebec

Quebec reports Friday 14 new deaths linked to COVID-19, as well as a drop in hospitalizations.

There are currently 2,109 hospitalizations, including 716 due to COVID-19, a decrease of 27 from Thursday. Fifty-seven people are in intensive care, ten less than the day before. Twenty-seven of those patients are in intensive care with COVID-19.

A total of 4,910 health care workers are absent for reasons related to COVID-19, such as preventive withdrawal or isolation.

The death toll from the disease now stands at 16,024.

The Ministry of Health reports 1,013 new cases of COVID-19, for a total of 1,154,061 since the start of the pandemic. However, the number of cases listed is not representative of the situation since access to screening centers is restricted to priority groups.

A total of 271,363 rapid tests have been self-reported so far on the government platform, including 226,874 positives. For Thursday, 296 tests were declared, including 249 positive.

The Ministry of Health indicates that 12,521 analyzes were carried out on Thursday and that the positivity rate was 10%.

Among those 5 years and older, 91% received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, 56% received a third dose and 18% obtained a fourth dose. Among those aged 60 and over, 52% sought their fourth dose.
