(Washington) The job market rose sharply in July in the United States, showing unexpected dynamism at a time when the fight against inflation raised fears of a recession.

The unemployment rate fell 0.1 points to 3.5%, returning to its pre-pandemic level, which was the lowest in 50 years, the Labor Department announced on Friday.
In July, 528,000 jobs were created, twice as many as expected; moreover, job creations in May and June were greater than announced, at 386,000 and 398,000 respectively.
