Delegates from the Fédération de la santé, affiliated with the CSQ, which represents 5,000 nurses, nursing assistants and other healthcare professionals, are debating a Declaration for “more humanity in health” on Tuesday.
While the Minister of Health and Social Services, Christian Dubé, wants to expand the place of the private sector in health, the Health Federation pleads on the contrary to bring nurses back into the public network, by making working conditions more interesting.
The president of the FSQ, Isabelle Dumaine, maintains that the return of nurses to the public network requires the end of the TSO – compulsory overtime – and by different means to reconcile work and family and personal life.
The union leader criticizes the Legault government for governing by decrees and ministerial orders, by unilaterally deciding on bonuses and other working conditions for nurses.
